About

A studio that treats search as engineering

Lulu SEO Design works at the intersection of technical SEO, information architecture and interface design, for businesses that need organic growth to hold up over years rather than quarters.

Lulu Web Design & SEO is a New Jersey studio that designs, builds and optimises websites for small and mid sized businesses. The work covers the whole chain: the architecture a site is planned on, the interface people actually use, the technical foundation search engines read, and the measurement that shows whether any of it worked.

Most of the businesses we work with are owner led. They do not have an in house marketing team, they have been quoted for work they could not evaluate, and they have often paid for a site that looks acceptable but cannot be found. The brief in those cases is not more marketing. It is a site with a clear structure, pages that answer real search demand, and a way to tell whether the money is doing anything.

That is why every engagement starts with an SEO analysis rather than a proposal. Until the constraint is identified, any recommendation is guesswork, and guesswork is expensive when a site already earns traffic.

Who it is for

The businesses this studio suits

Not every business needs an agency. Being direct about that saves everyone a quarter.

A good fit

  • Service businesses that depend on being found in a defined area.
  • Companies rebuilding or replatforming a site that already earns search traffic.
  • Owners who want to understand the reasoning, not just receive a monthly report.
  • Sites where design, development and search have to be solved together.

A poor fit

  • Anyone expecting guaranteed positions on a fixed date.
  • Projects where volume of published pages is the goal in itself.
  • Work that requires tactics designed to be hidden from search engines.
  • Situations where no one on the client side can approve decisions.

Capability

What the studio actually does

Three connected capabilities rather than a long list of packages.

Web design and development

Design and build are handled together, not handed between two vendors. Pages are built as reusable templates with semantic markup, server rendered content, sensible heading order, responsive images and accessible interaction. The result is a site that a small team can keep running without calling an agency for every text change.

Search engine optimisation

Technical SEO, information architecture and on page work sit on the same evidence base. Crawlability, indexation, duplication, internal links and page intent are treated as one system, because fixing any one of them alone rarely moves a site that has problems in the others.

Local search and paid support

For businesses that sell inside a service area, map visibility and organic visibility are worked together. Where organic results take time to compound, paid campaigns can hold demand in place, so the two are planned as one budget rather than two competing ones.

The full breakdown, including deliverables and pricing conversations, sits on the services overview. The sequence each engagement follows is documented on the process page, and finished builds are recorded under selected work.

Principles

How decisions get made

These four rules decide what gets built, what gets removed and what gets left alone.

Evidence before opinion

Recommendations are traced to crawl data, log data, Search Console and analytics. If the evidence is thin, that is stated rather than dressed up. A recommendation you cannot audit is a guess with better formatting.

Structure before volume

Publishing more pages into a broken architecture compounds the problem. Templates, internal linking and canonical rules are settled first, so every page added afterwards inherits a structure that already works.

Preserve what already works

Existing valuable URLs are kept by default during a rebuild. Removing or moving an address that already earns impressions is a deliberate decision with a written reason, an approved one hop redirect and a check after launch.

Design is part of SEO

Layout, hierarchy, load speed and accessibility all shape how a page is understood by people and by crawlers. A page that ranks and then loses the visitor has not solved anything.

Standards

The technical baseline every build meets

These are not optional extras charged separately. They are the minimum a page has to satisfy before it ships.

  • One page per search intent. No near duplicate pages competing with each other.
  • One H1 per page, with a heading order that reflects the actual structure of the content.
  • Server visible content. What a crawler reads is what a visitor reads.
  • Descriptive internal links. Anchor text explains the destination instead of saying click here.
  • Alt text on meaningful images and empty alt on decorative ones.
  • Canonical, robots and schema generated from one governed data layer, not typed into templates.
  • Every rebuilt address recorded with its migration decision before anything goes live.

Reasoning behind several of these standards is written up in the working notes.

Proof

Trust and verification

Claims are published only when they can be evidenced.

Needs verified business data. Team profiles, founding year, certifications, client counts, review quotes and performance figures are intentionally omitted until verified information is supplied. Contact details, the studio address and the service area are confirmed. Client reviews exist on the business profile but are not reproduced here until the text is supplied for publication.

What can be shown now is the work itself. Each record under selected work states the client, the scope and the services applied, with no traffic or ranking numbers attached until they can be evidenced and approved.
